Finally got my first ever roll of Kodachrome shot, sent, developed, scanned, processed!
All good things. The whole process took a little too long... sigh..
It's really hard to reproduce digitally the true colours of the film, but, I tried. It's not really that accurate..... shoot.

The Best $4.00 GO Bus of Life, or How I Came To Love This 3 am Walk Through Farm Country
Janice and I had a lovely time in Brampton last night, celebrating my + Cindy's combined Birthdays. We caught the 2:20 Toronto to Guelph bus (such a good route darn it) and walked home from Norval. These country roads are wicked fun in the middle of the night.

John Harquail, James Bond Photographer
John is amazing. He teaches us Entrepreneurship and this semester, a new class called Professional Studies, which is just a series of lectures from guest speakers.
Anyways, he showed up to class the other day dressed in this fabulous tux; he was trying to make a point about making an impression in the business world. Well, I think his point came across pretty clear.
Really, John is sweet. Amazing photographer too!
Anyways, that's about all I could manage tonight. I had an amazing dinner at The Bier Markt tonight with Janice, Em, Brenden, Devon and her boyfriend Adam. So, so, sooo delicious... but now I'm really full and lazy. So, I think it's sleepytime.

After much anticipation and hand-wringing, not to mention nearly daily calls home despite being told by my dear sweet mother, "I'll call YOU when it comes", my Kodachrome slides finally arrived from Kansas.
Now, when you have a wicked sweet Grandad like I do, you also find yourself receiving slide projectors that come in awfully handy at times like these. So, I kicked it old school and had me a little slide show... which of course turned into busting out the camera and making more perdy pictures. One hand washes the other. And on, and on, and on. Very good stuff.
Also, that story isn't QUITE finished. So, check tomorrow for further tales from the Slide Projector Saga.
Well, that's about it for tonight. I'm really, reeaally gonna try to get to bed at a decent time tonight. I've not been adjusting well to this back-to-school routine. Sleep is a wench.

Ground Glass
Self portraits taken by photographing the image displayed on the ground glass of a 4x5 camera using my DSLR. Basically, I'm photographing with a smaller camera through a larger one.
I've been wanting to do this with the 4x5 for quite some time, but you've already seen this done before with my Yashica ( Day 209, Day 206, Day 205 ).

Series of Self Portraits
I wanted to share these with you guys because I am a big fan of really good self portraiture. There is a whole different dynamic to photographing yourself, and personally I love the experience. Seeing really well done self portraiture is sooo satisfying.
And let's be clear; I'm talking about something with some effort, not the classic, gratuitous vanity, bathroom mirror shot.
Anyways, a while ago, Rebecca introduced me to an American photographer Cindy Sherman, who does whole series' of incredible self portraits. I dig that. And I think Rebecca has managed to produce a pretty solid collection so far. I'm excited to see more.
Also, if you're really into self portraiture, check out Rafael Goldchain. He published a book called I Am My Family, that contains 56 self portraits in which he portrays his Polish-Jewish ancestors whose own photographs and portraits were lost or destroyed in the turmoil of the Second World War. His vision and ability to execute the project flawlessly is incredible, not to mention having to do this all using only one subject, HIMSELF! Check him out!
